Raw Materials QA
Humdinger, Sherburn in Elmet, LS25 6PJ
Position type: Temporary, Full-time (Fixed term contract ending January 2026)
Hours: 37.5
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30
Pay range: £24,768 /annum
Breaks: 30 minutes
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily deliveries to ensure all materials received on-site are assessed for compliance.
* Regularly review the embargo list and ensure materials are cleared from embargo promptly.
* Perform necessary testing on raw materials to confirm they meet required standards and are fit for use, including certifications, supplier approvals, size and shelf life checks, viscosity tests, weigh checks, and micro-sampling.
* Ensure scheduled micro-sampling is completed as required, providing necessary results to demonstrate due diligence across all raw materials.
* Compare and sign off test results against required standards, such as customer micro limits and raw material specifications.
* In cases of out-of-specification results, follow escalation procedures and ensure all corrective actions and retesting are properly executed and documented.
* Report issues to the Operations and Technical Teams as necessary, and play an active role in driving corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
* Provide support to the Analytical Services team and assist with lab testing when needed.
* Draft and revise procedures as required.
* Ensure proper segregation and controls within the warehouse are in alignment with the site’s segregation risk assessment.
* Complete internal audits for warehouse areas to ensure compliance.
* Review COP requirements for key customers.
* Perform any additional tasks necessary to ensure the smooth and successful completion of responsibilities.
* Take on project work as required.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Strong proficiency in English and Mathematics
* Knowledge of pest control, supported by relevant training
* Solid understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to perform effectively under pressure
* Prior experience in a fast-paced FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment
Desirable:
* Level 3 HACCP certification
* Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
* Training in Segregation and Integrity
* Experience with COP (Code of Practice) reviews
* Proven track record in complaints reduction
