Job Details
We have 2 Building Standards Surveyor vacancies within the Building Standards & Public Safety team for motivated individuals.
The Building Standards & Public Safety team are part of Protective Services, which includes a wide range of statutory and advisory services designed to protect public health and consumer safety through Environmental Health, Trading Standards, and Building Standards functions.
The Building Standards Surveyor role has a range of responsibilities including:
1. Based in the Building Standards verification team and assisting other sections of the team if required, including public safety, licensing consultations, and operational support.
2. Processing building warrant applications, including technical assessments and inspections in line with agreed risk protocols.
3. Supporting enforcement activity and partnership working.
The Person
If you meet the essential qualification criteria outlined below, we'd like to hear from you:
1. Educated to Degree Level (Building/Housing/Construction) SCQF level 9 or SVQ Level 4.
2. Experience working in a Building Standards & Public Safety environment, including knowledge of relevant legislation, technical standards, and delivering a verification service.
