Who You Are You are an experienced LGV Technician with extensive knowledge and practical expertise in motor vehicle technology, particularly in handling cars, light goods vehicles, municipal vehicles, and parks equipment. With solid experience in hydraulic, welding, and electrical repairs, you possess strong diagnostic skills for vehicle maintenance. You adapt flexibly to changing work environments, including shift patterns, and can work in varied physical settings like elevated surfaces and confined spaces. Your familiarity with computer systems helps effectively record and track maintenance activities. A team player with an LGV class C driving license, you ideally hold City and Guilds qualifications in motor vehicle maintenance, along with knowledge of workplace health and safety. Being a qualified VOSA MOT tester for class 4 and 5A is an added advantage. What the Job Involves As an LGV Technician, you will perform service, repair, and maintenance work on various fleets, plant, and equipment according to health, safety, and legislative standards. You'll conduct vehicle testing adhering to VOSA regulations and execute risk assessments and periodic safety inspections to ensure compliance with Council policies. Key duties also include liaising with suppliers for optimal pricing on necessary goods/services, managing the stores to maintain adequate stock levels, providing roadside assistance, and diagnosing faults for repair guidance. You will perform general fleet electrical, welding, and fabrication tasks and inspect documentation for any damage or warranty issues, ensuring repair work meets safety standards before release. Responsibilities extend to mandatory vehicle checks in line with legal requirements, issuing MOT certificates to customers, and maintaining a safe, clean workplace. You will engage with various stakeholders, conduct safety training, and participate in safeguarding and data security procedures as part of Enfield Council's commitment to community welfare.
