As a Mears Apprentice, you'll receive monthly pay for working hours and study leave, gaining real-life experience in Talent Acquisition which will also include attending college one day per week. The 18-month apprenticeship will result in a recruiter level 3 standard qualification which aligns with the British Institute of Recruiters and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.

About the role:
As an in-house recruiter Apprentice, you will develop in the role with guidance from your mentor. Based in our Talent Acquisition team at the Gloucester head office in Brockworth, you'll attend college in Gloucester one day per week for face-to-face learning.
Your responsibilities will include supporting new job requisitions, liaising and communicating with stakeholders, hiring managers, onboarding candidates, smart sourcing via phone, Teams, and email, and typing up notes and attending meetings.
Day to Day duties:
1. Assisting with recruitment, supporting the talent acquisition team in sourcing, screening and contacting candidates to include arranging interviews, preparation and aftercare calls
2. Onboarding candidates’ with offer letters, right to work checks and security clearances
3. Managing different recruitment methods, candidates databases and job postings internally and externally
4. Supporting cost centres with their new requisitions, communicating with hiring managers and writing compelling adverts
5. Attend face to face and teams meeting when required
The apprenticeship will cover the following core areas:
6. Principles of assessing labour market conditions, including identifying shortages for specific roles and demand for candidates with transferable skills to move from the legacy carbon economy into green economy jobs
7. Candidate sourcing techniques, including how to research, identify and attract candidates using methods to satisfy job requirements
8. Methods for communicating information and interacting with candidates and other stakeholders to facilitate understanding, for example face-to-face or online meetings, emails, reports, and presentations
9. How to plan and prioritise activities to meet the companies recruitment strategy and processes, including allocating and managing resources throughout the recruitment life cycle and methods for increasing talent and client pipelines
10. Identify, progress, and convert leads into new candidates, placements, or clients
11. Plan and manage recruitment campaigns to attract candidates, including agreeing objectives with stakeholders and monitoring performance
12. Supports an inclusive culture, treating colleagues, candidates, and external stakeholders fairly and with respect
13. Seeks learning opportunities and continuous professional development
Key Criteria:
14. You must hold English and Maths qualifications at grade C/4 or above in GCSE's or level 2 in functional skills
15. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
16. Able to work in a fast-paced environment who can adapt to change
17. Knowledge of Microsoft office, Excel, outlook, Word etc.
18. Organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and stay organised
19. Team Player with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn
20. Eagerness to learn with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of recruitment
21. Passionate with a genuine interest in recruitment and helping others succeed
