About the role:
Our Trainee Team Managers are pivotal to the efficient running of our distribution operations. Running a team of around 25 Warehouse Operatives, they make sure that every item is perfectly selected, packed, distributed and has the devoted care and attention that our 5 million customers have come to expect from our brand over the years. Our largest distribution centre processes up to 600,000 units per day to our retail stores and to our customers' doors which is by no means straightforward.
As a Trainee Team Manager, you will work closely with the current Team Manager in their allocated work area. You will manage and motivate individuals and teams, to achieve operational effectiveness, business drivers and deliver service to our customers.
You’ll manage a team by monitoring absence, productivity performance and errors to identify ways of continuous improvement in order for them to achieve their personal targets and bonus. Every day is different, and you must be able to work autonomously and think independently, making sound operational decisions in deadline driven, pressurised situations.
About you:
You will be currently working in an operational role within Next or at other business, have an interest in progressing and taking your first steps into management .You will be an aspiring manager and may have limited or no experience of managing or supervising a team .You will learn on the job, experience life at the sharp end of our operation, working at a base location as well as providing operational support.
You will ensure that all operational processes are compliant with policies and procedures and play an active part in the promotion of a team work ethic. You will be given support & development during your training period. By building your knowledge & skills and following a development programme you will work towards completing key milestones that will demonstrate the necessary standards to achieve sign off.
