Data Platform Engineer - Remote - Permanent role
We are seeking an Experienced Data Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Scala and Java, along with a solid understanding of semantic technologies and knowledge representation. In this senior role, you will work closely with delegate architects, data scientists and engineers to design, build, and enhance our data platform, which processes both unstructured and structured data. You will leverage your expertise to develop scalable, efficient, and robust data platform solutions that drive our mission forward.

Designing and implementing scalable data processing architectures
Working with both structured and unstructured data
Leveraging cloud technologies and microservices architectures
Applying best practices in software engineering
Collaborating with data scientists to operationalize models
Ensuring data quality and consistency across various data flows

Key Skills
Strong expertise in Scala and Java, with a passion for leveraging functional programming principles to make data engineering practices more robust and efficient.
Solid understanding of semantic technologies and knowledge representation concepts (RDF, OWL, JSON-LD, Turtle, ).
Experience with data validation techniques and ensuring data quality and consistency, including SHACL for RDF data validation.
Proficiency in data query languages and transformation techniques for complex data processing (SPARQL, SQL, XSLT, )
Strong understanding of data modelling principles, including relational (normalized/dimensional) and graph approaches.
Understanding of various data storage formats and their implications for data processing and analysis.
Familiarity with advanced data integration technics such as Knowledge Graph Construction.
