General duties of the post holder:
1. To work with the Care Group Director, Care Group Medical Director, Service Manager and Modern Matron (in-patient services) in the forward planning and further development of services within the Trust.
2. To take part in the Consultant on-call rota within Rotherham mental health in-patient services, covering adult, older adult and learning disability services. On call work is assessed to be Category A and low frequency and is currently 1 in 20, which attracts a payment of 3% of the basic salary
3. To support and participate in Clinical Governance and Audit projects within the service
4. To participate in continuing professional development according to Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines and to maintain good standing with the College regarding CPD.
5. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to evidence based practice and to the application of NICE guidelines and Trust guidelines relevant to patients
6. To contribute to under-graduate teaching.
7. To comply with Trust policies, procedures and to contribute to the formulation of Trust clinical policies as appropriate
8. To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
