Bank Support Worker

1. Location: Fir Tree Lodge, Tadley, Hampshire, RG26
2. Salary: £11.88 per hour plus Benefits
3. Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis
4. Employment type: Part - Time, Flexible, Permanent

We are on the lookout for Bank Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
Furthermore, as Support Worker you will be responsible for:
5. Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
6. Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
7. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
8. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
9. Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
10. Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities
11. Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments
12. Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
13. To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values
We are looking for someone who can devote to 30 hours per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Who will you be supporting?
At Fir Tree Lodge, we support 10 people with learning and physical disabilities, sight loss, complex health conditions including epilepsy, cerebral palsy and autism.
The people we support enjoy going out for fun activities such as day trips to the seaside or to music concerts, bowling, accessible adventure playground, discos and the Active Life Centre! They also enjoy the comfort of their own home, each bedroom has a fully accessible ensuite bathroom, we also have a separate hydro-bath. They also watch movies, love cooking/baking (and tasting the end result!), gardening for the lovely smells from the herbs and flowers, foot spa and pamper sessions, sensory sessions and stories.
Each person we support has access to the Penney Centre, located next door, which includes activity/therapy rooms such as a Sensory Room, Music Room, Art & Craft room and Cooking area.

Responsibilities
14. Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
15. Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
16. To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
17. To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
18. Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
19. To support our people to maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
20. To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
