Step Teachers are working with a Primary school in Havering and are looking for a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school that advocates high goals while also contributing to student progress. This is a Full-Time role and it will start ASAP.
Key Responsibilities of a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, assisting with their educational and personal development.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
* Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.
Requirements of a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Previously working as a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience in a Primary mainstream school.
* A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
* Ability to adhere to relevant procedures and guidelines and put them into practice.
* PMLD / High Needs / Down syndrome / Autism / Special Needs Experience Is Vital.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* SEN experience is essential.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
