You’ll lead on media relations for Stockport’s Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) and wider regeneration story crafting compelling content, building strong media relationships, and securing impactful coverage across national, trade and local press. You’ll manage digital channels, pitch bold stories to top-tier media, and help shape Stockport’s reputation as a place to invest, live and grow.
You will develop a publicity and content schedule highlighting key dates and milestones, arranging photo opportunities and interviews where appropriate, working with both the local, national and specialist media outlet to generate interest and excitement.
If you’ve got a sharp news sense, a knack for storytelling, and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-partner environment, we’d love to hear from you.
About You
We’re looking for a confident communicator with a flair for storytelling, a sharp news sense, and the drive to put Stockport in the national spotlight. You’ll have a track record of securing high-profile coverage and building strong relationships with journalists across national, regional, and trade media.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, creative, and thrives in fast-paced, multi-partner environments. You’ll understand how to translate complex projects into compelling content, and you’ll share our values of ambition, teamwork, respect, and putting people at the heart of everything we do.
Stockport is delivering the UK’s biggest town centre regeneration and you’ll be right at the heart of it telling that story.
