Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PLC & Electrical Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in Electrical Control Systems. This role involves programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Mitsubishi PLCs in industrial settings. Expertise in electrical control systems, automation processes, and compliance with industry standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming & Troubleshooting
Develop, test, and maintain Mitsubishi PLC programs for new and existing equipment.
Diagnose and resolve faults in Mitsubishi PLC systems and associated control panels.
Modify PLC programs to enhance performance or support system upgrades.
Electrical Control Systems
Design, install, and commission electrical control systems for machines and automation equipment.
Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Ensure systems comply with electrical standards and safety regulations (IEC, NEC, CE).
Maintenance & Optimization
Provide regular maintenance and support for Mitsubishi PLC and electrical control systems.
Integrate Mitsubishi PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, sensors, and other industrial devices.
Conduct system testing, calibration, and validation for optimal performance.
Technical Documentation
Create and maintain technical documents, including electrical schematics, PLC programs, and operational procedures.
Ensure accurate records of all modifications and updates to control systems.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure electrical installations comply with health and safety regulations.
Work with safety teams to implement machine safety systems in line with ISO and other standards.
Training & Support
Provide training and technical support to colleagues and operators on Mitsubishi PLC and control systems.
Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and control issues across the plant.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Strong background in electrical control systems design, implementation, and maintenance.
Proficiency in Mitsubishi PLC programming (e.g., GX Works, GX Developer, MELSEC).
Knowledge of electrical control systems, including panel wiring, motor controls, and power distribution.
Familiarity with IEC, NEC, and other relevant electrical standards.
Experience with automation and control systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Familiarity with other PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Relevant certifications (e.g., 18th Edition, CompEx) and Mitsubishi PLC certifications are desirable.
Desirable Criteria
Capability to work on-site in manufacturing environments, including physical tasks.
Flexibility for occasional travel and after-hours support if required.
