Clinical Research Fellow - Gynaecological
Applications are invited for a clinical research fellow post in Gynaecological Oncology or Clinical Oncology to work on the Chelsea site of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust commencing March 2025.
Main duties of the job
This is a two-year fixed-term Clinical Research Fellowship within the Gynaecology Unit of the Royal Marsden Hospital. This post provides the opportunity to gain research experience and to complete an MD research degree at the Institute of Cancer Research. This post is suitable for a trainee in either Gynaecology Oncology or Clinical Oncology.
The post-holder will be undertaking a research project on recurrent gynaecological cancer. They will be working with the clinical oncology and gynaecology surgical teams to develop novel strategies for treatment. This project will include image analysis to develop predictive models and to assess feasibility of an auto-segmentation system to aid surgery and radiotherapy.
In order to fulfil the responsibilities of this post you must have full GMC registration and have either FRCR Part One or MRCOG, and to be able to commence by March-April 2025. The post holder will typically hold a national training number in Clinical Oncology and plan to undertake this fellowship as Out-of-program research experience.

* Ability to be self-directed and take initiative in educational/research activities.
* Previous experience of clinical research/trial
Personal Qualities
* The ability to work in a team of different disciplines
* Commitment to undertake research and complete the MD thesis
* Commitment to bring novel ideas and contribute to expansion of research portfolio in radiotherapy
