The Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our students with SEN, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they need to succeed. This role involves working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff members to provide comprehensive support to our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and delivery of personalized learning activities for students with SEN.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development.
Assist with classroom management and the organization of learning resources.
Support students during transitions and unstructured times, such as lunch and break periods.
Attend relevant training and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN support.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
A genuine passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is desirable but not essential.
