Oxford Brookes University is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Transport Manager as a member of the Environmental Sustainability team to develop and manage a range of travel and transport strategies and support services to deliver the University’s 2035 strategy. The Environmental Sustainability Team play a proactive role within a motivated and innovative Department, delivering key objectives to meet directorate and university-wide requirements.
This is a role that will see high levels of engagement across the Estates and Campus Services directorate as well as other directorates and faculties in the university, external stakeholders, contracts and partners. Overall Purpose of the post of Transport Manager
You will be responsible for the delivery of the new car parking management strategy, the sustainable transport strategy and associated travel plan, to lead in growing a culture of sustainable and active travel to enhance student and staff experience. This will include effective delivery, engagement, communication, support, monitoring and reporting. Stakeholder and contract management of external transport and system providers working in partnership with the university to support the growing culture of sustainable and active travel to enhance the student and staff experience.

Qualifications:
Educated to a degree level (as a minimum) within transport, planning or environmental fields.
Experience required for post:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess significant experience and exposure in delivering and managing car parking systems, transport and sustainable travel support services.
They should have significant knowledge of the delivery of new car-parking systems, transport and planning legislation and experience in travel strategy management, delivering travel plans, active travel promotion, managing contracts and successful partnership working.
The candidate would ideally have experience and understanding of best practices in promoting sustainable travel in the higher education, public/private sectors or other operations of similar size and complexity. Additionally, they should have experience in people management and managing behaviour change.
Overall, the ideal candidate should possess a high level of professionalism, expertise, and experience in managing transport and sustainable travel support services.
Working hours for the post of Transport Manager:
This is a full-time post which is 37 hours, typically Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, but Oxford Brookes is supportive of flexible working. Applicants who would like to have a working arrangement like this are encouraged to apply for this post.
