The Project
As an experienced Logistics Manager, you will have a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile design and build private residential scheme in East London with a build value in excess of £600m. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of materials and resources while optimising logistics operations to support the overall success and efficiency of the development.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
* CSCS Black Card
* SMSTS
* First Aid - desirable not essential
It is also essential that you hold the experience below;
* Extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working with a leading contractor or subcontractor
* History of operating as a Logistics Manager or in a similar position on major projects

Duties
* Weekly reporting
* Quality management
* Management of site perimeter boundaries
* Incident investigation, recording and reporting
* Create and oversee budgets for logistics operations
* Supervise the storage, distribution, and control of inventory
* Manage expenses and ensure the effective utilization of resources
* Organizing and monitoring delivery, storage and distribution of goods
* Track the flow of goods and resolve any logistical challenges that arise
* Create and oversee logistics strategies to guarantee the prompt delivery of goods
* Ensure precise inventory levels and implement systems to monitor inventory status
* Plan, schedule, and oversee the transportation of goods to ensure timely deliveries
* Evaluate logistics performance data and make enhancements based on the analysis
* Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, carriers, and other key stakeholders
* Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to optimize supply chain processes
* Utilise logistics software and systems to enhance efficiency (e.g., route optimization, tracking)
* Identify potential risks in the supply chain (e.g., delays, damage) and develop contingency plans
* Prepare and manage all necessary documentation, such as shipping records and customs forms
* Provide regular reports to senior management on logistics performance, trends, and areas for improvement
* Ensure the delivery of high-quality service to customers by managing order fulfillment and resolving delivery issues
* Commercial management, ensuring budgets are managed whilst continuing to deliver a quality service / product
* Address customer complaints related to logistics and collaborate with the appropriate teams to resolve issues promptly
* Develop and implement policies and procedures for logistics operations that prioritize effectiveness, sustainability and efficiency
* Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance performance, productivity, and adherence to safety standards
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations, including delivery times, cost efficiency, and inventory accuracy
