Salary: £35,047-£45,154 (dependent on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
The BAE Systems Air team is seeking the boldest & brightest individuals in the UK to inspire and innovate Mission Systems capability on our leading Engineering programmes: the Future Combat Air System (FCAS), FalconWorks, and Eurofighter Typhoon. Across these programmes, we are developing the next generation of aircraft systems such as Cockpit Controls, Navigation Systems, Weapons Integration, Advanced Sensing and Helmet Mounted Displays.
Our Mission Systems Engineers spearhead these development activities by:
1. Composing system and sub-system technical requirements
2. Designing system architectures and modelling performance using simulations
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Software, Mechanical Engineering, Design and Electronics
4. Managing tasks assigned by the Systems Engineering Manager and developing engineering plans to realise solutions
5. Critically analysing problems and proposing bold solutions to challenges
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
1. A degree in the field of Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, Systems or Software)
2. Resilient problem-solving & decision making skills, coupled with great analytical capabilities
3. Eagerness to learn and develop Mission Systems knowledge
4. A proactive attitude to getting involved with innovative projects
5. Experience with systems engineering toolsets (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink, Cameo, IBM DOORS, PLM Teamcenter)
6. Awareness of Model Based Systems Engineering approaches (e.g. SysML, UML)
Desirable:
1. Post-education experience in an engineering or technology role
