The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Maidenbower practice, initially on a 12-month fixed term contract.
The practice sits in a busy residential area and is close to local shops with easy access to the beautiful Sussex countryside, and great transport links to London, Brighton, and Gatwick airport.
We have 3 well-equipped consult rooms, digital x-ray, full lab, 2 theatres, 2 dental machines, ultrasound, endoscope, laparoscopic equipment, and we are one of the few practices locally that houses a very popular hydrotherapy unit.
This two Vet clinic has a strong surgical and medical caseload, which will enable you to fully develop your nursing skills. You will be supported by a large team of nursing staff including Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, and VCAs. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop nursing clinics and use your initiative to promote new ideas.
This is a full-time opportunity covering 40 hours per week. You will also be part of a weekend rota, covering 1:6 full weekends at our Faygate Hospital. Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:
* Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
* Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
* Carry out nurse-led appointments and schedule activities.
* Deliver patient monitoring and care.
* Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
* Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
* Dispense and check medication.
* Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
* Hold briefings to engage and coordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
* RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
* Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
* Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
* Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
* Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
