We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer within our growing Engineering Team.
In a nutshell you will be responsible for:
You'll play a crucial role in supporting maintenance designs and improvements, action plans to address root cause of failures and developing continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the effective running of our manufacturing site.
What you are already great at:
* Responsible for attending to breakdowns promptly and ensuring all work orders and planned maintenance tasks are completed Delivering training and support to move towards minor maintenance tasks being undertaken by operator level functions.
* Responsible for the accurate completion of all documentation.
* To work with departmental leaders and others developing a pride in the work areas keeping them clean, tidy and ensuring works do not compromise quality or safety.
* Promote teamwork across all functions including production, technical and new product development.
* You will support all aspects of the operation to ensure products are manufactured in a safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
* You are to ensure individual accountability for best practise and keeping skills up to date
* You will also be required to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by lead engineer, production or shift managers or other members of the site management team.
* May require travel to other sites, suppliers, customers and exhibitions.
* May involve exposure to heights and/or confined spaces
Ensure that performance of plant and buildings is maintained
* Plan and complete tasks for self from CMMS, PPM and Manufacturers schedules.
* Support Engineering, Production and all other Site functions with ideas and initiative’s to optimise asset efficiency
* Encourage an open communication culture between departments. (Engineering, Technical, Production, Planning, NPD, and Hygiene)
* To be a role model for the Engineering Improvers / Apprentices and Production Operatives in assisting and driving the agreed standards with shift and site managers
Planned maintenance tasks including daily checks:
* Checks include start up, line set (safety, operations, technical and engineering) routine maintenance in accordance with CMMS, PPM and Manufacturer’s schedules
* Complete relevant documentation in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
* Communicate requirements or issues to the relevant personnel. Engineering, Production, Planning, Technical etc.
Receive, prioritise, and complete work orders:
* Receive, prioritise and complete work orders from various departments (Technical, Production, etc.).
* Provide feedback to relevant personnel, including Line Manager, on issues and/or completion of tasks.
* Assist with Instruction and demonstration of efficient asset operation with Production, Hygiene, Technical and other Site functions or personnel as required.
Completion of maintenance projects:
* Modifications or upgrades
* Continuous improvements
* Services i.e. Water, Air, Gas, Electric, Steam etc.
* Additional projects as needed or requested on an on-going basis
For this role we would need you to demonstrate:
* HND/HNC preferable.
* NVQ / C&G / Time Served with Relevant Engineering qualifications (Electrical Mechanical Engineering, health & safety, etc.)
* Experience of FMCG operations
* Computer literate with experience of CMMS and Microsoft Office programs.
* Fault finding/diagnostics along with a strong health and safety ethic
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
* PLC and general automation fault finding.
* Maintenance design and improvement techniques.
* Route cause analysis techniques.
* Instrumentation installation and calibration.
* Effluent systems/Process systems/Water – Domestic & Industrial pipework and valves installation and maintenance
* Compressors / Air supplies infrastructure
* Chemical Training - COSHH
* Manual Handling
* Confined Space
* Working at Height
* Welding – Pipefitting / MIG-TIG-STICK (Desirable)
* Forklift licence
* MEWP Trained – Scissor Lift & Cherry Picker
* Good communications skills, able to work within a team, or on own initiative with a positive can-do attitude.
