Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker – Oxford
Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs? If so, then look no further!
A rewarding position has become available for an Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker to work in a school in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while making a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, and various other mood disorders. They need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow. This can make learning difficult; this is where you would come in.
As a mental health assistant, you will be directly involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health. You will help make learning fun and engaging while ensuring that it becomes concrete.
Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, providing 1:1 support for the SEN students, and helping to run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and engaging place. Behavioral management may also be required.
The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists, and counselors.
Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art, or drama will also be at an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
