Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the role of Nursery Practitioner on a temporary basis until 31 October .
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of working as part of a team within a childcare setting. The applicant should have a minimum of one year’s experience of working with children. We are looking for individuals with a genuine passion for the learning and development of children in the early years. We are particularly interested in people with a love of outdoor learning and forest schools experience.
Among other tasks, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
1. engaging in and supporting the daily running of the playroom
2. acting as a mentor for student placements and new team members
3. developing outdoor experiences and engaging in high quality outdoor learning experiences
4. engaging in staff training and development
5. taking an active role in sharing information and good practice
6. supporting the delivery of in-house training courses
This position will be playroom based with a high level of outdoor practice.
7. Applicants should possess an HNC or SVQ 3 (or equivalent) in Early Education and Childcare or Childcare Practice for a practitioner post
8. Applicants must have a minimum of one years’ experience in a childcare setting,
9. Applicants must be registered with the SSSC
