As a result of a recent restructure within Infrastructure and Transportation, an exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our newly established Parking Management team. You will work with a variety of partners, customers, and clients on the delivery of a professional service that maximises resources and delivers positive outcomes.
Reporting to the Parking Manager, you will have responsibility for developing and implementing the Council’s parking management strategy. You will also work with Council stakeholders and external partners to deliver improved outcomes for a wide range of parking initiatives and projects.
You will be responsible for delivering the Council’s Decriminalised Parking Enforcement duties, which includes those relating to waiting, loading, and pavement parking regulations. You will also be responsible for developing and promoting Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) within the wider Transportation team and responding to parking enquiries from elected members and the general public.
You will need a HND, Degree, or equivalent in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject. You will possess substantial knowledge and experience within a relevant field. You must have a proven track record of delivering projects and service priorities, including the ability to achieve project milestones and targets. You must be able to demonstrate proven experience of developing successful working relationships with contractors and professional service providers. You will have demonstrable experience in planning, tracking, and communicating progress on projects. You will also have capital and revenue budgetary experience including preparation, monitoring, and control arrangements.
You will be business and customer-focused with a demonstrable record of identifying opportunities, achieving outcomes, managing change, and exercising strong leadership skills. You will be self-motivated with a flexible and collaborative approach to work and have the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands whilst meeting tight deadlines.
With excellent organisational and IT skills, you will be able to utilise various Microsoft Office packages, GIS, and AutoCAD, and be a clear written and verbal communicator. You will have the ability to analyse information and produce reports and with experience of presenting information in public forums.
This role offers the option of hybrid working in line with the requirements of the service.
