The energy team plays a key role in helping the UK achieve its 2050 net zero target through the design and construction of power infrastructure that links renewable energy and other low carbon power sources to the customers that need it.

The role
We are looking for a Project Manager to be part of the Operational Team and help with the successful delivery of Substations. Potential projects will include both the full refurbishment of existing Substations and the development and construction of new Substations required to provide energy security to the UK. Projects in development are spread across England.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans and Quality Plans for operational sites, contributing to the creation of necessary Policies & Procedures.
* Ensure comprehensive documentation is maintained, adhered to, and routinely reviewed for all on-site activities.
* Communicate timely programming and change notifications to support internal departments effectively.
* Provide technical support to the Design department when necessary.
* Act as the primary point of contact for correspondence and meetings with third parties.
* Collaborate with the Head of Operations and Head of Portfolio to manage and allocate suitable resources across projects.
* Capture contract changes and compensation events, conducting cost and schedule impact evaluations in collaboration with the Commercial team.
* Utilize project control methodologies to enhance project efficiency and profitability.
* Ensure accurate and compliant submission of time bookings, allowances, and expenses in a timely manner.
* Generate monthly contract review reports and project close-out reports.
* Attend client contract review/progress meetings.
* Mentor and coach members of the project-specific management team.
* Provide leadership to the project-specific management team.
* Act as the representative of the company, fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Maintain commercial and contractual awareness, administering contracts correctly to safeguard potential entitlements.
The candidate
We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual with excellent knowledge and understanding of all key client and industry specifications.
* Proficiency in current Health & Safety legislation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of administering construction contracts, particularly NEC3/4.
* Familiarity with the fundamental aspects of the UK electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure within the construction context.
* Over 5 years of hands-on experience in successfully managing large-scale construction projects in a Project Management capacity.
* Experience engaging with prestigious clients, including leading discussions and chairing meetings with diverse stakeholders as a senior representative of the organization.
* Flexibility to travel and work across various sites throughout the UK.
* Possession of a valid, clean driving license.
* Desirable: Operational involvement in Substation construction and refurbishment projects.
* Desirable: Possession of Project Management qualifications and/or a Degree/Higher Education background.
* Desirable: Holding a recognized Health & Safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH General Certificate.
