To be responsible for ensuring that consultation, assessment, and treatment interventions are provided in partnership with children, adolescents and their families. To be responsible for implementing a range of psychotherapeutic interventions in the context of psychology for individuals, carers, families, and groups, including meetings with parents, family members and caring networks, adjusting, and refining formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses. To be responsible for organizing, attending, and chairing professional meetings and reviews as appropriate. To provide specialist consultation to professionals and agencies outside of the Trust in relation to highly complex cases (for example, families with multi-agency involvement). This will include liaison and working with professional networks involved with complex, emotive, and often conflictual issues such as those involving child protection, deliberate self-harm, violence, trauma and suicide risk. To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering complex factors concerning historical, familial, social, educational and developmental processes which have impacted on the young person and their family. To make skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family, or group. This evidence-based approach includes monitoring outcomes, modifying, and adapting interventions drawn from a range of theoretical models. To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients within the CYPMH South Team, based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care. To provide specialist psychological advice guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan, facilitating the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care by all members of the teams to the client. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility under the supervision of the Specialist Clinical Psychologist, Therapies Lead, and Operations Manager for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients as appropriate. To be responsible for ensuring that referrals and discharges are made in accordance with relevant policy and procedures and the principles of good practice.
