Job Title: Assistant Technologist
Duration: ASAP until March 28th, 2025
Day Rate: 145/day
Shifts: Monday to Friday - 8hr/day (4 days in the office, 1 day from home)
Location: London SW1P
Availability: Immediate start or short notice required
JOB PURPOSE
Participate and support the upstream risk management of Raw Materials from development to production, fulfilling high-quality standards, competitive cost, and on-time delivery targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assisting on Risk Assessment for Raw Material across different product categories.
2. Attend relevant cross-functional meetings, driving and providing guidance on risk and potential mitigation; supporting with detailed notes and/or written responses to points raised.
3. Provide clear and concise technical information and direction to Raw Material Development, Product Engineer, and Production teams on raw materials.
4. Technically review and validate raw materials and specifications against the standards.
5. Ensure adherence to the critical paths for both development and production to ensure timely delivery of information.
6. Support timely resolution of critical issues identified in the development cycle.
7. Complete Electronic Test Request Forms as required; expedite completed test reports to departments and liaise with test houses as required.
8. Manage the PO system to support payment to the Lab for tests undertaken by the team.
9. Maintain testing raw material trackers and Flex PLM or other systems as required.
10. Assist in the engineering of textile raw material.
11. Attend suppliers meetings.
12. Develop a clear understanding of capabilities and capacities of Raw Material Suppliers in the matrix.
13. Support collaborative partnerships with suppliers to stay current and accomplish material development objectives.
14. Responsible and accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of defined technical data within PLM for the assigned raw materials.
15. Support the drive for accountability of suppliers for materials specifications, processes, performance, and standards.
PERSONAL PROFILE
1. Degree in Textile Technology or equivalent.
2. Sourcing/Procurement experience is a plus.
3. Quality Management experience is a plus.
4. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
5. Curious about technologies and engineering.
6. Resilient, dedicated, and social.
7. Eager to create partnerships both internally and externally.
