Job overview
THIS POST WILL NOT COMMENCE UNTIL MAY 2025
The role of the Clinical Coding department is to provide strategic, tactical and operational information management across the trust in line with organisational and clinical objectives.
Main duties of the job
Duties include to update and maintain the computer master index, to action case note requests from other departments and to ensure the availability of case notes to the clinical coding team.
Person specification
Qualifications
* 2 GCSEs at level C or above or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English
* Demonstrate a basic knowledge of Medical Terminology
* CLAIT or ECDL
* Recognise the importance of confidentiality
* Be able to demonstrate the following skills in a busy office environment: Attention to detail, Working under pressure
* Knowledge or experience of NHS working
* Data entry keyboard skills
* Communicate well in writing and verbally
* Able to prioritise and organise own workload
* Awareness and Knowledge of the dignity in care agenda
* Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework
* Knowledge and experience of using Careflow and other patient related computer systems.
Specific Requirements
* Excellent Oral and interpersonal communication skills.
* Work well as part of a team.
* Flexibility.
