Salary Scale: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join a supportive and inclusive school in Wareham. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), and a drive to foster a positive learning environment. Patience, empathy, and resilience are essential qualities for this role, as you’ll be working closely with young learners to ensure they feel valued and encouraged within the school setting.
As an SEN Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to pupils, helping them navigate their individual challenges and facilitating their educational and social development.
Responsibilities of an SEN Support Worker:
* Assist students with SEN, providing both academic and emotional support in line with their personalised learning plans.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to implement individualised strategies for student success.
* Support students during class activities, break times, and extracurricular engagements.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that supports each child’s unique needs and abilities.
* Record and monitor students' progress, adapting support methods as needed to meet evolving needs.
Required Qualifications for an SEN Support Worker:
* Proven experience working with children with special educational needs.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Relevant SEN qualifications or training (preferred but not essential).
* An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to complete a new check.
