Sociology Department
The Sociology Department is a small, but well-formed and successful Department lead by the Head of Department and another part time teacher. We deliver GCSE Sociology and GCE Sociology using the WJEC specification to KS4 and KS5 students. The two teachers work collaboratively together and make full use of shared resources and schemes of work.
Sociology is a very popular subject in Lagan College. We have formed great links with other school providers and many of our students go on to study it or elements such as Anthropology, Criminology and Social Sciences at university level.
To date, other Sociology teachers have offered History to KS3 level, however, this appointment is open to the successful candidate being able to offer KS3 History or other subjects to this age range.
