Job Overview: Teach Match is seeking a dedicated Classroom Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a primary school in Greater Manchester. The ideal candidate will provide support across the classroom, assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting individual students' learning and well-being. Key Responsibilities: Support the teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all students can access and participate in classroom activities. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students who may require additional help, including those with special educational needs (SEND). Assist with classroom management, helping to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources to support the teacher's plans and activities. Help with the implementation of individual learning plans and provide tailored support to meet the needs of students. Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher to support learning outcomes. Support students' emotional and social development, fostering positive relationships and encouraging a supportive classroom atmosphere. Assist with classroom routines, including preparing for lessons, managing resources, and maintaining the learning environment. Support students with behavioural challenges, promoting positive behaviour strategies and helping resolve conflicts when they arise. Help supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as playtime, lunchtime, and school trips. Requirements: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role is desirable. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred. Strong understanding of child development and effective classroom management strategies. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to support student learning. Patient, proactive, and compassionate attitude toward working with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one). First Aid certification is an advantage but not essential. Desirable Skills: Experience working with children with SEND, including learning difficulties or behavioural challenges. Knowledge of phonics or numeracy strategies would be beneficial. Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and respond flexibly to changing classroom needs. Why Teach Match?
