The Professional Support Services (PSS) department is a diverse group, comprising eight different teams of registered and unregistered staff and learners. We recognise that educating both our current and future workforce is essential to delivering excellent care, as well as recruiting and retaining talented staff.
Working closely with the Chief Allied Health Professional (AHP) and the PSS service leads, the post holder will scope and map existing training, practices, and learner placement provisions. You will lead the development of of training resources to support and enhance clinical education within PSS. Additionally, you will devise a coordinated approach to streamline training processes and explore opportunities for campus and system-wide coordination of education.
Your work will not only improve the quality of our educational resources but also contribute to innovative ways of delivering education to support our workforce in providing high-quality patient care. Success in this role will be measured by reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring the sustainability of outcomes beyond the project's completion.
Main duties of the job
Engage with registered and unregistered staff, learners, and other stakeholders to understand the current training landscape and identify opportunities for improvement.
Review and map current learner placement provisions across the PSS department.
Ensure the resources are easily accessible, up-to-date, and reflective of best practices in clinical education.
Develop a coordinated, streamlined approach to managing learner placements to improve efficiency and the learner experience.
Support the service leads and Chief AHP in career pathway mapping and work force planning
Identify opportunities to align and streamline training processes across the PSS teams to ensure consistency, reduce duplication, and improve the delivery of educational programs.
Explore collaboration opportunities with external educational institutions and system partners to maximise educational resources and opportunities.
Engage in campus-wide or system-level discussions to promote coordination of education strategies.
Provide regular updates to the Chief AHP and PSS leadership team to ensure the project is on track and aligned with objectives.
Work towards embedding project outcomes into the long-term practices of the PSS department.

Essential
1. Registered professional:, Allied Healthcare Professional or Nurse
2. Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational qualification with associated experience
3. Qualification or experience in education and development practice, to masters level equivalent, in student assessment such as: Practice Assessor / Educator, the mentorship preparation pathway or equivalent

4. Post basic degree/masters or equivalent experience
5. Teaching / training qualification to a minimum of Degree level or equivalent

6. Demonstrable relevant post registration experience
7. Demonstrable ability in multimodal skills teaching/training within healthcare setting
8. Experience of using training programmes that employ a competency based approach to assessment
