We are looking for a Practice Nurse Manager to join our team. We are excited by the prospect of welcoming a suitably trained nurse manager to lead nursing services in Northamptonshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including health assessments, immunisation, cytology, wound care, and other clinical duties. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for patient care, and a strong commitment to providing quality healthcare services. Responsibilities:
* Provide health education to patients and their families.
* Administer medications and treatments according to physician's orders.
* Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
* Provide patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
* Lead on wound care management and participate in immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
* Lead on Nursing staff appraisals and day-to-day management of the nursing team.
Main Duties of the Job:
* Nurse management, leading the nursing team, responding to changes in nursing practice, and reporting to the GP partner.
* Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes which promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health.
* Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with known long-term conditions.
* Proactively identify, diagnose, and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing long-term conditions.
* Undertake agreed procedures (e.g., blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height and weight, body mass index, venepuncture, ear syringing, ECG, peak flow readings, cytology, travel and childhood vaccinations, interpretation of blood results).
* Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist patients in complex, urgent, or emergency situations, including initiating effective emergency care.
* Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patients' needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols.

Person Specification:
Experience:
* Previous involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines.
* Experience of audit.
* Adaptable to change in line with clinical guidance.
* Previous experience in the management of long-term conditions.
* Family planning experience.
Qualifications:
* Child/Adult immunisation trained.
* Cytology sample taker.
* Complex wound dressing.
* GP surgery experience.
* Chronic disease management (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma).
