Job summary Working as a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse entails great leadership, encompassing communication, collaborative working, innovating ways of working, and providing staff and patient safety at all times. This post entails providing day to day leadership to the Nursing team within the ward, acting as a role model at all times whilst ensuring patients are receiving high quality evidence-based care. You will adopt a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, their carers and relatives, and all staff within the MDT alike. They will lead by example and help to empower staff in their personal and professional development. There is an expectation to work closely with the medical team and other agencies, to ensure patient care is given safely, promptly and appropriately, encouraging proactive discharge planning, and promoting maximum independence for patients.
