This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies worldwide and become part of a brand-driven team in the Burton-on-Trent Unilever factory as a Logistics (Warehouse) Operative.
The Logistics Operations Worker is involved in the inload and outload of material and product from the factory. This includes the movement and accounting of material into and out of the warehouse, and from the end of line to the point of factory outload.
Pay: 12.46 - 14.02 shift pattern dependent
Hours: 4 over 5 12 hrs shift pattern or 8 hr rotating shift pattern
This temporary ongoing role offers excellent long term and temp to perm opportunities.
JOB SUMMARY
1. Use appropriate material handling equipment to move product and materials from and to designated locations to support bulk activities in an efficient and safe manner.
2. Build pallets and orders as directed to support successful order fulfilment.
3. Safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
4. Stock process - handles delivery and sorting.
5. Work accurately to control warehouse inventory at acceptable levels.
6. Analyse material movements to locate parts, serial number, and quantity change.
7. Generate movement documentation.
8. Pack parts, perform inventory count, stock material in the appropriate locations.
9. Efficiently load/unload trucks, bulk rigs and transports with a forklift.
10. Assist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse and logistics area.
11. Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality.
12. Conduct inspection and general maintenance of logistic equipment including lubrication, servicing of filters etc. Performs receiving quality inspections as required by policy.
13. Monitor quality against set standards and report any material faults or safe handling/quality issues.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Essential
1. Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent. This will support recording of data, analysis of machine performance and general teamwork skills with an emphasis on good communication.
2. Must have experience with warehouse systems such as SAP.
3. Must have experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
4. Must have an FLT licence.
Annual leave entitlement of 28 days a year pro-rata for the first 12 weeks, and 33 days per annum thereafter (including bank holidays). Free parking, discounted staff shop.
