Location: Fieldway, Mitcham, London CR4 4SJ
Role: Activities Coordinator (BANK only, working as needed)
In your role as an Activities Coordinator at HC-One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our Residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining HC-One, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
As an Activities Coordinator, you will plan and implement activities that will delight our Residents and help the Home Manager organise essential fundraising events. You will encourage Residents to socialise more effectively, develop new activity ideas based on their hobbies, and involve the rest of the care home team, all with a sense of kindness.
HC-One is looking for someone with a background working with vulnerable individuals, ideally in developing activity programmes. You should possess positive energy, excellent planning, organisational, and IT skills, and be able to manage your time effectively. Communication with Residents and co-workers should be considerate and kind.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility; therefore, it is important to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training in associated areas.
We will provide full training, making it a great opportunity to learn something new. In return, you will enjoy access to a variety of benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well-being, including:
1. Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
2. Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG.
3. Free uniform.
4. Nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
5. Company pension scheme.
6. 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.
7. Group life assurance cover.
8. Wagestream - financial wellbeing and flexible access to pay.
9. Award-winning learning and development support to achieve qualifications.
10. GP online service providing 24/7 GP consultations via an interactive app for you and your children under 16.
11. Opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues as part of an outstanding team.
12. Colleague discounts - access to over 1600 high street discounts.
13. Free access to an independent and confidential Employee Assistance Programme for a range of issues.
14. Recognition schemes such as 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards.
15. An attractive refer a friend scheme of up to £1000 per referral.
