In 2015, Deutsche Windtechnik entered the UK market and now has over 640 WTGs/700MW under Service & Maintenance contracts, we aim to expand further into the onshore market. Deutsche Windtechnik Ltd.'s head office is in Livingston, Scotland.
You will work closely with all departments in the UK and other group companies to ensure we are providing a level of service expected from a market leader. Although most of your time will be spent working in the UK you may be expected to spend some periods working with colleagues in Germany and other DWT (Deutsche Windtechnik) group countries.
Role Clarification - Wind Turbine Technician
The wind turbine technician will be responsible for the routine preventative maintenance of the wind turbine, mechanical, electrical, gearbox and hydraulic systems. Unscheduled maintenance, retrofits, emergency breakdown, and major component exchanges are also key responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. The provision of preventative and corrective maintenance on Siemens 1.3 & 2.3 Wind Turbines as per DWT instructions.
2. Completion of all relevant paperwork, including work order cards, checklists, AWPs (Authorised Work Procedure) etc.
3. Replacement of major turbine components e.g., generators and gearboxes.
4. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
5. Assist in all areas of site operations.
6. Provide safe access and egress to all people in the work party.
7. Comply with customer site rules.
8. Report all incidents and occurrences as per Deutsche Windtechnik company Health and Safety policy.
9. Partake in the rota for on-call cover on weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications
As a minimum, the candidate should have or be working towards:
1. Relevant formal qualifications minimum SVQ/ NVQ level 3 (electrical, mechanical etc) and/or comprehensive experience in a relevant industry.
2. Ideally two years of hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical experience in an industrial environment e.g., wind farms, power stations, industrial process plant or similar heavy engineering maintenance environments.
3. Valid driving licence.
