DT/Food Technician Wanted – Durham Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and skilled DT/Food Technician to join our client school’s team in February 2025. The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting the DT department, ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing equipment and materials for practical sessions, maintaining classroom facilities, and assisting teachers in delivering high-quality lessons. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of Materials: Prepare and set up equipment, tools, and materials for practical lessons across various Design & Technology disciplines mainly Food Technology. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly check, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in the classroom environment. Conduct risk assessments for practical tasks and maintain an organised inventory of materials. Supporting Staff: Assist teachers during practical lessons by demonstrating techniques or providing additional support to students as needed. Qualifications & Skills Required: A relevant qualification in Design & Technology, Food, or a related field. Previous experience working in a UK school environment is essential. Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
