Who we are
The Skytanking organisation has two divisions, ‘Fuel’ and ‘Airport Operations’. The Fuel division is head-quartered in Hamburg, Germany, and is part of Primeflight (head-quartered in Houston, USA). This role will report into the Operations Director within Airport Operations. In the event of cross product and/or global initiatives, the role will function within a wider Skytanking/Primeflight team. All references in this JD are on the basis of operating within the Airport Operations division only; which is currently based in London, England and operating in the U.K., Netherlands, and Italy.
This role is directly supporting the three bases in England including Manchester, Stansted, and Birmingham.
A leadership role which is a key member of the Skytanking Operations team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of Skytanking England Airports through inspirational leadership alongside the optimisation of all aspects of Airport Operations; to enhance Skytanking's emerging brand into a market leader in terms of Safety, Quality, and People.
The Regional Manager will be a meticulous problem solver, confident to challenge and question operational processes, identify inefficiencies and diagnose problems to simplify and optimise operations.
Personality and a can-do attitude are key to success, being able to lead by example, coach, mentor, and inspire the Station Managers and operational teams, building the Skytanking Airport Operations employer brand through trust and authenticity.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record in the delivery of material growth, the Regional Manager will identify and support opportunities to deliver organic business growth, greenfield entry into new markets, M&A, and other major projects that align with the overall Skytanking business strategy.

Your tasks
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVE AREAS
* Ensure safe and secure operations in all aspects of Health, Safety, and Compliance across all Stations.
* Delivery of EBITDA and cash targets, securing a financially sustainable business.
* P & L accountability.
* Lead Station Managers to drive & increase focus, accountability, and business performance through the application and measured KPIs.
* Act as a visionary leader, providing insights across all facets of the Airport Operations business, including market dynamics, commercial strategies, operations, and support functions, to shape a forward-thinking direction for the organisation.
* Uphold the highest standards by ensuring policies, governance, and legal guidelines are effectively communicated and adhered to by all stakeholders, protecting our shareholder and brand value.
* Foster long-term, sustainable, trust-based relationships with customers, authorities, business partners, and relevant stakeholders, enhancing Skytanking's presence and reputation.
* Analyse and anticipate problematic situations, irregular operations, and/or business disruption providing solutions to ensure financial health, business sustainability, and growth.
* Represent the Skytanking business consistently and with professionalism - facing the Station Managers and workforce with confidence and skill.
* Elevate Skytanking as the preferred employer in the market, attracting top talent, and creating a dynamic workforce that embodies a global perspective.
* Coach, mentor, and inspire the Station Managers, empower your direct reports, and hold them accountable, providing guidance and motivation to maximize performance.
* Develop and execute innovative business plans to enhance direct labour cost-efficiency, in alignment with our strategic KPI of worked hours per turnaround whilst embracing technological advancements.
* Take the lead in sourcing new business opportunities and drive the successful delivery of new projects/station ensuring growth and innovation.
* Translate key data into an effective and commercially focused operational and people strategy, working with senior management and influencing them on the best course of action.
* Accountability for commercial tender bids, seeking new business opportunities and creating a strong network with airlines.
* Support HR strategies to help improve our people's journeys.
* Be our ambassador, representing Skytanking in a professional and brand-aligned manner, reflecting our values and business strategy in public speaking engagements and representational appearances.
* Carry out additional duties as may be reasonably requested by the VP Operations Ground Handling.
Your profile
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree plus a relevant post-graduate professional qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Proven track record of exceptional performance and service delivery in airport operations (or equivalent/adjacent sector e.g., logistics) leadership role, including leading Managers and a station-level team of aviation professionals.
* Direct and full P&L ownership experience of a comparable size and complexity of business. A proven track record of delivering profitable financial results within a commoditised marketplace.
* Evidence of having a passion for working with people and working beyond the confines of the job description.
* Outstanding communication skills – able to deliver bad news and give it a positive outlook as well as the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety governance, risk management, and compliance.
* Proven organisation skills and ability to prioritise.
* Thrives on constant change.
* Advanced in the use of MS Office applications and Operational systems.
Leadership Role
* Yes, able to deputise for the VP Operations Ground Handling towards the Senior VP Ground Handling Europe & Asia and other stakeholders as required.
Language
* Spoken and written fluency in English is mandatory; spoken and written fluency in another European language (as a second language) would be an advantage.
Mobility
* This will be based 5 days a week in one of the applicable sites but you must be able to work across all UK Stations.
* Can obtain security clearance and qualify for an air-side security pass (no legal restrictions).
* Possesses a valid Full UK driver's licence.
* Valid Passport.
