Are you an enthusiastic, passionate and highly motivated individual who is eager to make a real difference in mental health care? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic Adult Occupational Therapy Team.
This post is based at the Springview Mental Health Unit, Clatterbridge Hospital and you will work across multiple wards which may include:
* Three acute adult mental health assessment wards
* A ward for people with dementia
* A Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
What you'll do:
You will need to show an awareness of Occupational Therapy and mental health conditions and be able to manage risk.
You'll work as part of the Occupational Therapy team to plan and facilitate a varied programme of therapeutic activities, working in small groups or individually with service users. Through your interactions with service users, you will consider their presentation and record clinical documentation accordingly.
You'll work with the entire Occupational Therapy team (which includes experienced Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Technical Instructors) and our integrated multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure a seamless and supportive care experience for every individual.

* Receive dedicated guidance and direction from experienced Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Technical Instructors.

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), Monday to Friday

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level III or equivalent in relevant subject area with experience in health care setting
* Good amount of experience in an Occupational therapy setting and willing to work towards NVQ Level III in relevant subject
* Level 1 certificate in Basic Food Hygiene or be willing to gain within 3 months of being in post
* Either have, or working towards ECDL or CLAIT qualification
Knowledge & Expertise
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Skills in using a variety of activities and interventions relevant to the post including creative activities and domestic skills
* Co-ordination and organisational skills
* Basic risk assessment and risk management skills
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
* Basic computer literacy
* Basic understanding of issues affecting adults with a mental health difficulty and/or learning disability
* Skills in leading groups.
Experience
* Experience in a health care setting
* Experience in adult mental health or learning disabilities
