Deputy Matron / Home Manager - Elderly Care - Central SW London - 2-year contract - £60k circa
A beautiful care home / village for the elderly is looking for a Deputy Matron / Care Home Manager to join its team. This will initially be for a 2-year contract but there could be the option of moving into a permanent role if the successful person is interested. This is a unique and private home for the elderly, with excellent facilities within vast grounds, including a full nursing & care team, Allied Health, activities team, chapel, F&B outlets, etc. Regularly visited by VIPs and royalty, as well as outstanding CQC ratings.
SALARY ETC:
1. £60k circa
2. Central SW London
3. 2-years contract, with potential opportunity of a permanent role
4. Full-time

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have full right to work in the UK (unable to offer sponsorship)
2. Registered Nurse (current PIN number with NMC)
3. Experience in elderly care/ geriatric nursing
4. Evidence of further learning and continuing professional development relating to health and social care
5. Thorough understanding of older care, having experience and a sound understanding of the benefits the right nursing care can bring to pensioners' lives.
6. Knowledge of the CQC policies and procedures
7. Supervisory and team leading skills & Effective communication skills
8. Ability to performance manage or engage in the disciplinary process
9. Self-motivation and resilience
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
1. Provide effective line management of the Ward Manager, Therapies Manager, and Care Team Manager and the Domiciliary Care Team.
2. Assume responsibility for the service in the Registered Manager's absence and in support of the Nominated individual.
3. Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the Registered Wards ensuring standards of care are maintained.
4. Deputise for the Registered Manager during absence
5. Maintain oversight of all Domiciliary Care activity across the whole site, ensuring care is delivered in a safe and timely manner.
6. Work closely with the Medical Centre and Therapies Team for safe and effective clinical case management
7. Develop strong rapport and effective communication with the MDT
8. Support the ward managers in ensuring safe staffing levels and monitor use of agency, overtime and bank to fill personnel gaps
9. Support the ward managers in ensuring services comply with legislation and regulatory requirements.
10. Keep the Registered Manager updated in all aspects of the registered wards, particularly in any areas of concern or non-compliance.
11. Participate in the on-call Duty Matron rota
12. Liaise with external professionals, individuals and families as required to ensure that the needs of the people supported are reviewed regularly and plans developed so that we continue to meet their needs.
