Position: Contractor's Engineering Manager Reports to: Programme Delivery Manager Location: London Old Oak Common Safety Critical: Yes Purpose of the Role
1. Ensure integration management procedures are implemented effectively.
2. Ensure integration of major and minor sub systems is managed, facilitating a right first-time design and construction activities.
3. Support the Systems Engineering team in managing and identification of interfaces.
4. Support Systems Engineering team in V&V activities.
5. Support Project Manager in identification of change events.
6. Monitor engineering integration performance, acting promptly to address any issues that arise during the delivery of all projects.
7. Ensure that staff are briefed on new and revised processes, procedures, and standards.
8. Ensure that the quality of all design and construction activities meets the required standards, contractual obligations, and customers¿ expectations.
9. Provide all required input and deliverables required to ensure timely hand back of all projects.

Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
13. Work as directed by the Lead Design Organisation Manager
14. Support the Contractor¿s Engineering Manager (CEM) in the resolution of interfaces.
15. Responsible for inputting and updating the Technical Interface Management Register.
16. Responsible for preparation of Interface Control Documents (ICD).
17. Responsible for maintaining and updating the Division of Responsibility documents.
18. Responsible for identification of commercial change instigated by integration activities.
19. Interface with the Delivery Managers and Subcontractors to develop integrated solutions to fulfil the customer requirements.
20. Brief changes in Client¿s and Company procedures, engineering standards, engineering processes and legislations to relevant staff.
21. Attend meetings and briefings as required.
22. Ensure that Colas Rail Limited compliance system (Internal and external audits, surveillance and self-checks) is developed and maintained.
23. Carry out technical Audits, propose corrective actions and monitor close out.
24. Ensure processes and procedures are implemented for the safety of the line to be considered and maintained at all stages of the work.
25. Ensure robust quality and safety critical records are maintained.
26. Carry out investigations of incidents as directed. Produce reports and corrective action plans.
27. Attend Network Rail Engineering and Technical briefings.
28. Attend Network Rail compliance meetings.
29. Attend and cascade briefings.
30. Regularly review and update the engineering processes and procedures.
31. Attend all training and induction courses as directed.
32. Carry out regular safety tours as directed.
33. Perform on Call duties as required.
34. Achieve zero corrective actions under audit.
35. Ensure that all design and construction disciplines CREs are consulted as necessary.
36. Support the business development activities of the Infrastructure Division.
37. As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.

Person Specification
39. The job holder will have:
40. Proven managerial experience.
41. Engineering qualifications preferred.
42. Chartered Engineer or working toward Chartered Engineer status.
43. Proven experience in engineering a general knowledge of all disciplines.
44. Project Engineering experience.
45. Knowledge of Permanent Way, S&T, OLE, E&P, HV, Telecoms and other discipline¿s principles practices and procedures.
46. Sound Technical / Engineering knowledge
47. Good commercial awareness.
48. Ability to lead and motivate people to ensure compliance with all relevant technical, quality, environmental and safety standards.
49. Ability to manage conflict resolution and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
