National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Lead Service Manager (Infrastructure & Platforms) to join our Service Operations team within Digital Services. As the Lead Service Manager for Infrastructure & Platforms, you will help to lead a small number of technical services deliver to their operational performance targets and identify and implement opportunities for operational enhancement and innovation for IT and OT technologies. You and the team will deliver our business change, ensuring National Highways fulfils its goals and objectives.
We are transforming how we support digital, data and technology services across National Highways, covering both our operational and corporate technology estates and the Lead Service Manager role is part of the Service Operations management team. We are working to significantly improve the experience for our users and customers, optimising and streamlining our processes to drive efficiencies and achieve better outcomes.
Please note this is a hybrid position and can be based from any of our UK offices.
Responsibilities:
* Play an integral part in the management team contributing to the Digital Services objectives and strategy. Drive forward the ITIL, Agile and ADO aligned services from both a business, supplier and people perspective. Deputise when required for the Head of Infrastructure & Platforms.
* Responsible for the delivery, management and maintenance of IT and OT technology solutions across Infrastructure & Platforms covering Corporate Network, Traffic Management System, Stop Vehicle Detection and Cloud, maximising the benefits of the services provided for both National Highways and the service users.
* Track and contribute to the continuous improvement of the services for which you and your team are accountable and responsible for delivering.
* Ensure that appropriate governance is adhered to always and services operate within the required performance metrics and boundaries. You will support managing finances, escalate any new risks, and manage any approved mitigation.
* Ensure performance and quality reports are delivered complete and on time. These will include but not be limited to, system performance, service performance, availability, risks, issues, capacity, ADO and any actions being taken to improve performance across Infrastructure & Platforms.
About you.
* ITILv3 or ITIL v4 practitioner or significant demonstrable equivalent experience and project and program management practitioner level such as Agile, Prince 2, SAFE, MSP / qualification or significant demonstrable experience in a relevant technical area: cloud engineering, telecommunications, computer systems or related technologies.
* Experience leading teams in a complex commercial, contractual and service management environment.
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of IT infrastructure technology design across cloud hosting, networking and on-premises solutions (e.g. utilities environment or large service integrator) and is able to demonstrate exposure to the range of technologies deployed in operational technology environments.
* Excellent experience with supplier and contract management able to improve supplier delivery through strong engagement and contact knowledge.
* Ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders and pull together disparate information into meaningful documents.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
