Job description:
We are currently recruiting within our Blowmoulding operation at Severnside for a Shift Manager to join the team.
The Manager will enable the team to deliver on targets and continuously improve performance, through effective coaching and developing. You will support delivery of the Muller excellence strategy, in areas of Health & Safety, Plant Effectiveness, Quality, Costs and Environment whilst being part of and supporting the delivery of Blowmouldings strategic vision.
Key responsibilities:
* Ensures all work standards are met, aligned with company policies and procedures
* Effective communication and implementation of company policies, procedures and practices
* Champion for instilling high levels of personal safety awareness through workforce
* Striving for improvements in systems and procedures to ensure full compliance in all areas of Health and Safety, Quality, Environment (waste) and Production/supply effectiveness
* Ensure manufacturing and supply performance delivers against set objectives
* Support appropriate managers with absence and performance management issues, managing disciplines of team, including disciplinary procedures
* Setting team/employee objectives and targets for continued improved performance
* Mentoring, coaching and developing team members, delivering development plans for own team aligned with business objectives
* Creates a purpose, vision and clear direction around business objectives
* Ensure full compliance to all business standards (Health and Safety, Quality and site performance)
* Ensure STAR/Accidents are captured with corrective actions closed
* Supports manufacturing and engineering manager deliver on clear business Objectives
* Day to Day responsibility for driving improved site performance and team disciplines
* Prioritise workload and team to drive continued improvement actions
* Drive waste and cost impacts to optimise cost controls
* Identify poor performance and manage through performance improvement plans
* Prompt recognition and actions regarding fault finding and correction of issues
* Go, Look, See issues through regular workstation visits
* Coach, mentoring team members enabling them to support problem solving
* Ensure constructive handover and capture of all issues is completed
* Regular Health & Safety, Quality, Hygiene inspections and sign off
* High Level of problem solving capability and facilitation skills
* Drive continuous improvement ideas through to completion
* Identify, evaluate and support production/supply related training and development needs
* Regular and consistent communication with team through 1-2-1's, PDP discussions regular cascade briefing's
* Drive key initiatives through the asset care TPM programs
* Drive Muller excellence strategy through effective PMS activities
* Drive Continuous Improvement ideas through to completion, with team engagement
* Proactive management of sickness absence, with performance and disciplinary issues own team performance to deliver on KPI's
Skills and Experience:
* IOSH Managing safely
* Leadership qualities
* GCSES Cs and above, in Maths and English
