Responsible to: Henley and Thame Local Party
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 pa pro-rata dependent on experience
Benefit: 8% Employer’s Pension Contribution
Hours: Minimum 24 hours per week including some weekend and evening work
Location: Across the Henley and Thame Constituency, with a desk at the constituency office in Chalgrove.
Description:
Primary Tasks:
1. Take overall responsibility for the Campaign Plan working with our Campaign Team.
2. Build and manage a structured team of constituency volunteers for year-round campaigning in all parts of the constituency.
3. Take charge of literature design and print, working with HQ templates and the Oxfordshire Print Society in Abingdon.
4. Regular liaison with the Regional and HQ campaign team and the other Oxfordshire campaign staff.
5. Build a good working relationship with MP Freddie van Mierlo and the local party executive and campaign committee.
Secondary Tasks:
1. Build campaigning and organisational capacity – including recruiting members, helpers, deliverers and poster sites.
2. Take charge of constituency emails at all levels using Targeted Mail.
3. Take charge of phone banking using Connect.
4. Take charge of delivery management using Connect.
5. Take charge of the doorstep communication plan and monitor progress.
6. Supporting fundraising and assisting with fundraising campaigns.
7. Attending relevant conferences, training and other meetings.
Person Specification:
The following criteria are considered essential:
1. Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.
4. Exceptional personal organisation.
5. Ability to multi-task.
6. Ability to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivating and able to manage own workload.
7. Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
Preferred:
1. Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher & Connect) – training will be provided as needed.
