Full-time Strategic Planning Newcastle As an experienced Senior Strategic Planner, you’ll be responsible for developing and guiding the strategic direction of digital campaigns, ensuring alignment with our clients’ goals and business objectives. Demonstrating a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, digital channels, media plans, and data analytics, you’ll craft strategies that integrate creative, performance and technology to drive growth and engagement. Reporting into the Strategic Planning Director, you’ll be responsible for strategies that meet and exceeds client expectations and for leading collaboration across the internal delivery teams to ensure the brief and strategy is understood and implemented. The role You'll be responsible for: Delivering great digital strategies Create insightful and creative digital strategies that effectively address business objectives for new business opportunities and existing client projects. Conduct comprehensive research on consumer behaviour, channel strategies, and competitor landscapes to inform strategic decisions, identifying emerging trends, opportunities and threats for client success. Create detailed strategic plans that outline campaign goals, target audience, messaging, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborate with creative teams to ensure that the strategic vision is effectively translated into compelling campaign ideas and executions. Update appropriate briefs and agency documentation to ensure all stakeholders are aligned around the strategy and campaign brief. Lead collaborative stakeholder relationships Serve as a strategic partner to clients, understanding their business challenges and providing insights-driven recommendations. Present strategic concepts and campaign plans to clients and internal teams, articulating the rationale behind strategic decisions. Build strong relationships with clients, maintaining a deep understanding of their industry, competitors, and business goals. Own the client strategy internally, overseeing the adoption and delivery of proposed strategies and driving the process to ensure the strategic vision is realised. Optimise campaign performance and engagement Monitor and analyse the performance of digital campaigns, using data to refine and optimise strategies. Recommend appropriate metrics and data for delivery teams to track to ensure the right performance metrics are captured. Take accountability for measuring campaign effectiveness and identifying relevant multi-channel opportunities. Collaborate with analytics teams to assess the effectiveness of campaigns against KPIs and make data-driven adjustments as needed. Provide regular reporting to clients on campaign performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. Note: We offer a hybrid approach and are in the office 3 days per week, based near the Metro Centre in Gateshead. The person Ideally you'll have: 5 years of experience in strategic planning within a digital marketing agency or related industry. A degree or equivalent experience in marketing, advertising, psychology, or related field. Good understanding of the agency model and the importance of content in marketing campaigns. Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, content marketing, and social media, with knowledge of branding and positioning strategies. Experience with customer journey mapping and personal development. Proficient with data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel) and experienced in market research methodologies. Superb storytelling and presenting skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively Adept at developing innovative strategies that drive results. Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple projects Proactively manages own schedule; prioritising urgent tasks and ensuring deadlines are achieved.
