Job Summary

You’ll be making a difference to the future of aviation by delivering operational excellence and supporting our commitment to decarbonising aircraft technologies. The Cyber Security Technician is responsible for responding to security threats, attacks, and investigations, operating security tools, and collaborating with SOC providers to manage incidents. The role involves troubleshooting cybersecurity issues, maintaining knowledge of adversaries and tools, and supporting internal security measures.
This role offers hybrid working and requires travel to the nearest GKN Aerospace site, with global travel expected twice yearly.
How You'll Contribute
* Follow all HSE rules and regulations, wearing PPE as required.
* Assist IT/OT teams in monitoring threats and vulnerabilities.
* Maintain global cyber controls, operations, and services (24x7).
* Escalate, respond to, and report cybersecurity incidents and corrective actions.
* Support high-availability service levels, technical controls, and analytics on cybersecurity tools.
* Work effectively as part of a multi-locational team.
* Develop and maintain cybersecurity control processes, standards, and architectures.
* Assess IT/OT environments, including systems, networks, databases, and applications.
* Support maintenance, support, administration, and health monitoring of cybersecurity solutions.
* Engage in change management, assessing operational readiness and lifecycle management of cybersecurity solutions.
What You'll Bring
Essential:
* Relevant Degree or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in high availability & high performance infrastructure in a global manufacturing organization, in roles such as security, systems, or network administrator.
* Experience working in virtual, multicultural, global environments.
* Extensive experience in information security and IT risk management.
* Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
* Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
* Understanding of system architectures and vulnerability risk impacts.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of aerospace regulations and export controls.
* Ability to collaborate with stakeholders on security implications of business changes.
* ITIL certification.
* Knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Data Protection regulations.
* Background in network and firewall administration, CCNA certification.
* Certifications such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP.
