Vacancy:
We have an excellent opportunity for a support worker, based at our 3 bedded EBD children's residential home in Duston, Northamptonshire. The home is situated close to the town centre and public transport.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the protection and safeguard the wellbeing of the young people in our care.
2. Support with day to day tasks within the home, such as meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, daily routines.
3. Support and encourage involvement with activities both within the home as well as out in the community.
4. Take young people to school or to medical appointments, activities etc.
5. Demonstrate the value of education, care, and development to achieve better outcomes.
6. Build and create mutual trust and respect with young people.
7. Define structures and boundaries of behaviour, acting as a positive role model.
8. Produce, maintain and distribute house paperwork to ensure accurate record-keeping.
9. Support and analyse the young people's behaviour to encourage participation in a positive structured routine.
10. Create and produce activities to develop life skills and education.
11. Maintain knowledge of and apply relevant legislative and regulatory standards.
12. Provide basic advice on managing finances and everyday life skills.
13. Update records on a daily basis.
What you'll bring:

2. A willingness to work towards QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare, which is fully funded by us.
3. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
4. Ability to cover sleep ins - on average one a week.
5. Positive role model - honesty and empathy are a must.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and a calm demeanour.
