We are looking for a staff nurse to join the bank within our Lower Limb Clinic which is an integral part of our Tissue Viability Service. The post will mainly be based within the Lower Limb Clinic at Surbiton Health Centre. The successful candidate will be joining a small, friendly, dedicated team who deliver nurse led, high quality and evidence-based care to patients with lower limb wounds in a clinic setting. The clinic achieves excellent healing rates for patients with venous leg ulcers and also treats patients with complex ulcers of other aetiologies and promotes supported self-care where appropriate. Patients report consistently high levels of satisfaction with care and treatment. The clinic also provides training and education in leg ulcer management to pre- and post-registration nurses. Some knowledge and experience of wound assessment and leg ulcer management is required, but support will be provided to develop your skills in tissue viability. You will be an effective communicator who is able to work well as part of a team. This is a bank post for up to 37.5 hours per week. The clinic operates between 08.30-4.30pm Monday Friday. You will be mostly based at Surbiton Health Centre although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites as needed. Main Duties To deliver high standards of evidence-based care to patients with leg ulcers and lower limb conditions To assess and measure patients for compression hosiery/wraps and select appropriate products after individual assessment. To contribute to the smooth running of the clinic by ensuring adequate supplies of equipment and dressings are available at all times. To ensure detailed, accurate and confidential patients records are maintained using the electronic patient record system whilst adhering to organisation policies. To have good IT skills, and contribute to the organisations data collection. To provide health care education and support to patients/relatives and carers. To encourage the patient towards self-care and independence. To participate in planning and delivering programmes of training for pre and post registration nursing staff. To share knowledge and skills in lower limb care by providing clinical advice to other health care professionals.
