More about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Senior Software Operations Engineer in our Operations Team in Pampisford Cambridge with Telensa. Working as part of the customer operations group helping customers to plan, install and commission new lighting control systems and assisting with debugging and increasing operational efficiency. With a wide range of responsibilities including different engineering disciplines from radio system deployment to database and software support. Opportunities to work with our customers, to train them on the benefits and operation of the Telensa lighting control system. Delivering excellent customer experience by being responsive and when questions and tickets are raised. Using LEAN and process improvement methodologies to deliver an efficient service to our customers and drive collaboration across departments. Monitoring the performance of new and existing networks. Incident, Problem, and Change management including ticket performance and related KPIs. Testing to ensure the successful release of new products & software releases to market. Relaying critical customer and market needs to the Product Management team, to guide decision making in our Agile Development Cycle. Continuously seeking new knowledge and development within Telensa products, the lighting industry, efficient processes, and professional skills. More about you While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening: Linux system administration as well as SQL (advanced level) is required. Telecoms or connected lighting experience preferred. Database and web-based systems (Postgres, Firebird, Apache). Software operations and use of CMS tools. Previous experience of working within a similar role or environment and have prior experience of working with AWS and Linux OS. Have a keen interest in delivering systems, forming customer relationships and providing system support. You have proven experience engaging and challenging customers and colleagues with a track record of driving engagement on projects and inspiring customers and colleagues. You are someone who leads by example, being confident and decisive and having a strong communication style. Strong communication and leadership skills are required for this role.
