Truro LNU Cornwall are a level 2 unit and part of the South West Neonatal Network, providing expert care for up to 20 babies born over 27 weeks gestation.
We are looking to recruit a highly experienced, enthusiastic individual who will lead and facilitate practice education for our unit If you are passionate about education and are keen to enhance the quality of the learning experience, contributing to the development of the Neonatal workforce please come and join our team.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and creative in their approach to educating when working with teams and individuals, they will be innovative, demonstrating strong leadership skills with all members of the multidisciplinary team, senior teams within the trust and the Southwest Network.
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will be responsible for providing support, educational input and development opportunities for all registered and unregistered staff involved in Neonatal care, ensuring staff are encouraged to achieve their full potential and clinical effectiveness.
This highly experienced practitioner will both lead and facilitate practice education for NNU to support staff, ensuring the development and maintenance of a learning environment where both education and lifelong learning are integral to clinical practice.
They will support and facilitate the development of practice supervisors/practice assessors/educators, providing supervision and support structures.
They will act as an expert practitioner/role model, providing professional leadership to support staff within the Neonatal Setting to develop and maintain clinical practice knowledge and skills. .
They will act as the Truro link with the South west Neonatal network education group todevelop, co-ordinate, evaluate and implement education programmes to be utilised within the clinical setting
They will enhance the quality of the learning experience and positively contributes to the development of Neonatal workforce, in line with local and national directives.
The post holder will support the Neonatal Team in meeting standards as identified by the Care Quality Commission, British Association of Perinatal medicine, NICE guidance and other professional/regulatory bodies.
