Network Engineer - West Midlands, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire - Hybrid / WFH
12 Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
£60,000 + Pension + Health / Medical + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Technical Skills Required:
1. Experience in a similar role of network support and problem solving
2. Support of Juniper firewalls and switches
3. Support of HP / Aruba switches, covering configuration, management and troubleshooting
4. Working knowledge of ACL and VPN configuration, management and troubleshooting
5. Proven routing knowledge of static and OSPF routing as a minimum
6. Working knowledge of OSPF including import/export policies, weighting and dual-home links
7. Understanding, deployment and support of the use of Aggregate Interfaces
8. Advanced knowledge of virtual routers/Routing-instances and associated route leaking
9. Understanding, configuration and troubleshooting of STP/RSTP
10. Produce a high standard of documentation
11. Methodical approach to job role and daily tasks
12. Ability to lead projects and make decisions to ensure the best outcome for all parties involved.
13. Working knowledge of IPAM & NAC tools an advantage
14. Experience with tools and a language for scripting useful
15. Juniper security certification an advantage
Your key areas of responsibility will involve:
1. 3rd Line Technical Support engaging in Operational Services in the Networks area, ensuring appropriate and successful implementation of your key technical and functional responsibilities
2. Ensure the day-to-day operation, operating efficiency and quality control of the network infrastructure
3. Troubleshoot complex network topologies in a timely manner
4. Provide pre and post installation support for new deployments (new site / 3rd party)
5. Recommend, plan and implement operational upgrades using generally accepted best practice methodologies
6. Recommend, plan and implement development upgrades using generally accepted best practice methodologies
7. Work closely with 3rd Parties and customers to resolve complex technical queries
8. Assist and support other Technology teams with Network related queries
9. Deliver a first-class customer experience
10. Ensure Internal and External SLAs are met
11. Review, Introduce and Document new and existing standards to a high standard
