Our Merthyr site is currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly, passionate team.
We are currently seeking Lairage Operators to safeguard the livestock. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday - 7.00am with a variable finish (equating to 40 hours per week), with a salary of £12.44 per hour.
Duties:
1. Safeguard the wellbeing of livestock
2. Move livestock to secure holding pens causing minimal stress
3. Keep the abattoir serviced with livestock
4. Keep the lairage facilities clean and tidy
5. Adhere to Company hygiene practices & animal welfare procedures
6. Comply with Health & Safety rules, to prevent/minimize the risk of accidents
7. Participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan
8. Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager
Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but full training will be given for inexperienced people keen to learn the trade.
Minimum Requirements:
* Good attention to detail
* Able to use own initiative
* Good communication skills
* Self-motivated
* Able to work as part of a team
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Experience with livestock, desirable but not a requirement
* Certificate of competence certified, desirable but not a requirement
